When

Create a packing list or manifest of items you are shipping

If you are shipping products, invoices, or purchase are great to records to have available incase of a claim.

If you are shipping a vehicle
We will need the year, make, model and VIN of the vehicle you are shipping.  If there is financing, we will also need the name and address of the financial institution.

Determine the value of what you are shipping

If you have invoices or receipts for items you are shipping, that is great!  Keep those handy in case there is a claim.

If the items are household goods or other possessions, think about what it would cost to replace that item.  Assign a value or at least a rough estimate to various items.

Add together the total amounts

It is advised to take pictures of items that have any real value, or that you want to document the condition of in case of breakage or loss in the shipping process.

Take pictures of the packing process about a third of the way through, then at the end before you close the container doors.

If you are shipping a vehicle
When you drop it off at the port, get front, back, side-to-side pics and a quick walk around video if it.
